The Japanese yen (JPY) is the currency of Japan. The currency code is JPY and currency symbol is ¥ (international) or 円 (Japan—present day) or 圓 (Japan—traditional). The Japanese yen is subdivided into 100 sen or 1000 rin (both sen and rin are not in circulation). Frequently used Japanese yen coins are in denominations of ¥1, ¥5, ¥10, ¥50, ¥100, ¥500.
