Swiss franc users

Swiss franc is official of Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Italy exclave Campione d'Italla. It is also widely used in German exclave Büsingen whose sole legal currency is the euro.

Both Switzerland and Liechtenstein geographically locate in the central of Europe. They are bordered each other. The establishment of the Swiss Confederation traces back to August 1st, 1291. The Swiss speaks four official languages, German as the majority, following the French, Italian and Romansh. Switzerland has not joined the European Union (EU), neither does Liechtenstein. In the referendums hold in 1992 and 2001, the Swiss people voted against the accession negotiations with the EU. Liechtenstein is a small country with around 160 square kilometers (62 sq miles) area but very rich. Its official language is German and uses the neighbor Switzerland’s currency, Swiss franc as national currency.

Swiss Franc is Hard currency and used as a reserve currency in the world. All banknotes are displayed all information in the four national languages which are German, French, Italian and Romansh. Respecting the same reason, all Swiss coins are language-neutral and feature with only numerals. Currently in circulation coins are in denominations of 5, 10 & 20 centimes, ½, 1, 2 & 5 francs, banknotes are in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 & 1,000 francs.

The Swiss franc is the only version of the franc still issued in Europe. France Franc, Belgian franc and Luxembourgish franc have been withdrawn from circulation since euro was adopted in 1999.
